Since opening its doors in 2007 in the beautiful Laurel Heights neighborhood, Spruce has been a coveted institution in the San Francisco restaurant scene. Honors include one highly coveted Michelin star 2011-2015, three and half stars from the San Francisco Chronicle, in addition to numerous years of recognition from Wine Spectator for their wine list. About 80 percent of the produce on the menu comes from SMIP Ranch, a private five-acre farm located in the hills above Woodside that grows vegetables, herbs, and other specialty crops exclusively for Bacchus Management Group’s family of restaurants. Bacchus Management Group’s properties also include The Villiage Pub and The Villiage Bakery in Woodside and The Saratoga in San Francisco. Big Rock invested in Spruce in 2007.

The Cavalier is a London inspired brasserie from Restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas and Chef Jennifer Puccio, owners and creators of the critically acclaimed San Francisco restaurants Marlowe and Park Tavern. The Cavalier joins its sister restaurants with both a three star rating from The San Francisco Chronicle, and a listing on the Chronicle’s famed “Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants” for 2014.
Lazy Bear encapsulates the unique San Francisco dining experience. Started as a pop up in 2009 by Chef-owner David Barzelay in an underground venue, the concept became a brick-and-mortar in the Mission in 2015. Rather than the standard restaurant reservation model, Lazy Bear operates more as a dinner party with two 11-course seatings for 40 guests each evening. Big Rock invested in the brick-and-mortar transition in 2015.
Nightbird opened in December of 2016 led by Chef-owner Kim Alter. Souvla is a fast-fine Greek restaurant with locations in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley, NoPa and Mission neighborhoods, inspired by casual souvlaki joints found throughout Greece. Noosh will feature flavors from the regions of the former Ottoman Empire— present-day countries like Turkey, Israel, Greece, and Armenia.
